Ncaa Basketball Recruiting

NCAA basketball recruiting otherwise known as the national college athletic association is a basketball competition between the schools, colleges and various universities. The universities and the schools form their own team with a recruitment method. Various teams such as the as the university of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), University of California (UC), USC Trojans, University of North Carolina (UNF) and many other state universities from Arizona, Washington. The school level teams play for the pacific 10 competitions and NCAA basketball recruiting is next highest level. The UCLA holds the record for highest number of titles for the NCAA tournaments.

Basketball is loved in the American continent and students just love to play this sport. The schools and colleges for their team and appoint professional coaches and training staff to identify the right player and train them prepare the schedule and conduct the classes. The teams conduct the recruitment for men’s basketball as well the women’s basketball. The players first play the pacific tournament and then the NCAA. These players after performing in the higher level even go on to represent various clubs under NBA. These players with their good performance are also included in the national basketball team. Apart from basketball these universities also form their own team for soccer.

The NCAA basketball recruiting can be classified into three divisions namely Division 1, Division 2, Division3. In division 1 there are 32 divisions with 346 schools. Except for the great west conference all the teams get an automatic bid to the NCAA basketball recruiting. Some of the important conferences in division 1 are America East conference, Northeast conference, Ohio valley conference, pacific 10 conferences, metro Atlantic conference, western Athletic conference, patriot league, Sun belt conference, colonial athletic association, mountain west conference big ten conferences etc. all the teams have to undergo these conferences and the winners will be awarded with points and team with highest point in that particular league proceeds to the next conference. In division 2 there are 22 conferences such as the conference Carolinas, east coast conference, heartland conference, south Atlantic conference, and sunshine state conference, Gulf south conference, lone star conference etc. the teams which qualify for the division 3 which has direct relationship with professional basketball or the NBA.

The NCAA basketball recruiting rules are laid down for recruitment. The NCAA basketball recruiting offers scholarships for only division 1 and division 2, its main focus remains on these two divisions. The school does not offer scholarships for division 3 because it more professional in nature and it functions more like the club game. The NCAA basketball recruiting wants the colleges to fill the questionnaire and send it to them with the recruitment process letter within June 15 of every year. For division 2 the last date for sending the letter is September 1. During the recruitment period the coaches are allowed to make one call in case of junior level and 2 calls in case of senior level for division 1 championships. Incase of division 2 the coaches are allowed to make only one call for the recruitment process. However the recruits can make unlimited calls at their own expense. The bylaw of NCAA has banned the coaches from sending text messages and instant chat messages and communicating through twitter. The NCAA then conducts face to face interview and engagements with the coaches and recruits and makes an official visit to the campus at the expense of college. An evaluation is done with regard to the recruitment process. The recruitment process the division 1 level allows seven contracts while the division 2 restricts to three contracts.

Like the NCAA basketball recruiting, NCAA baseball recruiting also is conducted with games being played at different levels. Some of the other basketball recruiting clubs are the NAIA basketball recruiting which offers scholarships and scout programs. The NCAA Women’s basketball recruiting is also conducted were women also take an active part in developing the sport. All these matches are played in their respective university auditorium and each team has two jersey colors for home and away matches.

Thus the NCAA basketball recruiting has ensured that the students with right talents are found and recruited and they play the game with high spirits. They also lay foundation for poking their nose into the national team as well in professional club games.
